Character

Name: Julia Laforeze
Fandom: Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Time Period: The very, VERY end of the game, after Isaac's death and after Hector moves in with her.
Wing Color: Pale, shimmery pink.
History: http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Julia
Personality: A warning: There are spoilers beyond this point!

Julia is a kind, gentle soul, for the most part. Despite being hunted earlier in her life for being a witch, she still shows concern for people and humanity in general, and this extends even to her lost brother, Isaac, whom she still deeply cares for and worries about. She wants nothing but the best for those she loves, and despises Dracula and his evil ways, especially so for plaguing both the land and her brother with his terrible Curse; but this extends to anything evil in general.

She enjoys being able to help people, whether it be with her potions and items for sale, or with her knowledge of what the future may or may not bring, to taking care of Hector's Innocent Devils while he is away. She doesn't seem to be afraid of challenging someone to a verbal fight, either; if she feels she is right on the subject or matter, she will not back down. While she's not much of a fighter, however [I'm going to assume that she CAN'T, considering the era and well, it's never shown in the game], she'd rather keep the peace, but she will aid those who fight for the side of good.

She is also a natural caretaker, as seen when she offers to care for Hector's Innocent Devils, and after Trevor Belmont is gravely injured by Isaac. She manages to, on her own, take Trevor back to her home/shop and patch him up to the best of her abilities. She even becomes so fond of Hector that, in the end when he states that he needs to find a place to hide his little 'friends' away from the humans and so that he can live in peace, she opens up her home to him, stating that he is more than welcome to live with her, and he accepts.

It should also be noted that Julia is full of faith. At the end of the game, just before offering to allow Hector to live with her, she tells him that she has faith that in time, the darkness of Dracula's Curse will fade from the people's hearts, because their hope lies within one another.

By nature, she is not a bitter or cynical person; she is the exact polar opposite of Isaac. During the game, she also acts as Hector's voice of reason, stopping him from letting the curse consume him. This is shown when, after he knocks Isaac out, he is about to strike him down. Hector remembers what Julia told him -- "A Devil Forgemaster is easily susceptible to Dracula's magic. Do not let the curse take hold of you, I'm certain that she would not want you to pay such a price for your revenge." ['She' being a woman named Rosaly, Hector's deceased lover that was executed as a witch because of Isaac's doing] -- and he manages to stop himself, realizing that this is not how he would normally be, that the curse was forcing his thirst for Isaac's blood upon him.

I also want to note that there isn't a whole lot of canon for me to work with, Julia didn't have a lot of on screen time, so I am merely going with what I can!

Strengths: Julia's strengths lie within her ability to see the future; she is a natural witch, after all, as she explained to a former colleague of her brother, Hector, upon meeting him the first time. Because of this, she is also able to make many different potions, for such things like healing wounds or illness, removing curses, things of that nature; at home, she sells them out of her shop.

Mentally, she is strong because she is able to, in her own way, see people for who they are. Such as Isaac, her own brother. He's done horrible, HORRIBLE things, and yet she knows that while he IS angry and vengeful, Dracula's Curse is what actually gives him the push and the drive to do the things that he does. When it comes to Isaac, there is a point in which she stumbles upon both Hector and Isaac engaged in battle. Just as Isaac attempts to move in for the kill, she suddenly shouts at him to stop, to which despite the Curse and his insane need for revenge against Hector, he does stop. He calls his Innocent Devil back and responds that it was too soon to kill Hector anyway, and then disappears. Hector is angered, but Julia manages to calm him down by explaining the effects of the Curse to him, and what it's doing to her brother's mentality. This seems to calm Hector and he apologizes before leaving, promising that he'll do what he can.

This could also play into her strengths emotionally as well. Julia very much wanted to have the curse lifted from her brother, but she was also fully aware that more than likely, Isaac would die as a result. She came to accept this, though, and even told Hector that so long as it is by his hand that Isaac is slain, only then could she live with it. Because she is strong mentally, she is also strong emotionally, being very much able to keep herself in check.

Weaknesses: Weakness was not shown in game; but I would like to assume that she would be just as weak as any other woman of her era, especially with such a slim build. She seems to be ever the lady, even with the way she carries herself; and as I mentioned before, she is NEVER shown fighting. So when it comes down to it, more than likely, she's just physically weak, and is prone to being just as weak as anyone else, despite being a witch. I would also think that her teleporting powers would drain her somewhat, depending on how much it is used and how far she and whoever else she may be bringing along have to go. Think of any other normal human being.

First Person: [ A sample voice message ]

Ah... how to begin? I feel as though I absolutely must apologize for my... confusion when I first arrived here. You see, this place is nothing like anything I have ever seen before. So I beg of you, good citizens, please forgive me if I seemed confused or even panicked. I do hope I did not offend; 'twas not my intentions, I can assure you!

Now that that is settled, I must ask... is it true that everything here is free? I had assumed there was some sort of payment system. If there is no money, how does one repay the kindness of others? So many of you seem to come from such different eras than myself, as well. But do forgive me again, won't you? I do not mean to seem so childish with all of my questions, this is all so new to me still!

I find myself being rude. Please, allow me to introduce myself properly this time. I am Julia Laforeze, 'tis a pleasure to be able to meet and speak to you all. Should you ever need assistance, please do not hesitate to call upon me. I will do my best to aid you.

Third Person:

Julia had been absolutely shocked to hear Isaac's voice fizzling in through that odd journal she'd arrived with. At first, she hadn't believed that it was truly him; Isaac was dead, she was sure of that. She'd seen his corpse in the castle ruins as it began to crumble around them, she'd even uttered a quiet 'farewell' to him as she retreated with Hector. Surely, this was a cruel joke of some sort; she'd demanded an explanation, and she'd gotten just that: the dead could also thrive here, as though nothing had happened. Still, she had to see him with her own eyes to believe it, be present when he spoke to her to be sure.

She requested that they meet in person, something he'd mocked her for, but hadn't outright denied her. 'The woods,' he'd told her finally, before cutting the connection. Julia had no idea where in the woods, however, as he hadn't specified. It had taken a while, having to ask a few kind people for directions, but she'd finally found her way, pausing only at the edge of the woods. What if this was some sort of trap? A demon in disguise? The woods was a fairly ominous place to meet, but what choice did she have? With her heart beating frantically against her ribcage, she finally allowed herself to continue forward. If it were a trap, then so be it, but she had to know.

After what felt like an eternity of walking, the young woman finally allowed herself to pause for a rest. She hadn't seen a living soul out here yet, other than the occasional fluttering bird, and it was starting to get dark. It was then that she felt eyes glaring into her back, and without hesitation she whirled around, eyes widening as she took in the painfully familiar form of one Isaac Laforeze. The blonde visibly stiffened, right hand moving to rest over her heart, clenching with slight anxiety. There was no doubt in her mind now. This was not a phantom, nor a demon -- his posture, the markings and studs littering his flesh, everything was too perfect for this to be any sort of demonic illusion.

Something was different about him, though; the air about him was calmer... the curse. Isaac was freed of the curse! With her eyes misting ever so slightly, Julia took a small step forward, the hand at her chest clenching harder, the crescent shape of her nails imprinting themselves into her palm as she finally allowed herself to speak. "...Brother, it really is you..."
